Production Logo: Effects

These are the different effects we used when making our production logo.

We decided to add the 'Bad Film' effect because we liked the way that it flickered and we thought it gave an old fashioned and spooky effect to the font and it looked really different and interesting. It also gives a scratching effect to the font which we thought looked like someone was actually writing it themselves which is the effect we wanted. It also changes the colour of the font and makes it darker and lighter occasionally which creates mystery and wonder.

We added this effect on top of 'Bad Film' as we thought it represented our production logo name, Tremor Films, very well. Tremor is when you are shaken by something and by adding 'Earthquake' it made the font look as if it's shaking from a fright. As we used the colour red for the font it helped to emphasize the fear/tremor from humans as the colour represented blood, specifically human blood. Combining with the 'Bad Film' effect made the production logo look more spooky and so fit into the genre 'horror' well.

We decided to use 'Bad TV' at the end of the production logo because it looked really good with our already chosen effects. All the other effects made or font on our production logo look like the camera was breaking, and so we decided to use 'Bad TV' at the end of our font to make it appear like the camera had broken and then the font disappears right at the end. We really thought this was effective and makes it obvious to the audience what genre our trailer is.

Here is a print screen of all the effects that we added to our production logo. We had to go through each letter of 'Tremor Films' and ensure that each letter had the exact same effect on it and that it entered and finished at exactly the same time. It took us around 2-3 hours to do this to the best of our ability.
