Laura's Mood Board

By making a video on keynote for my mood board I am able to present the genre horror in a variety of key aspects that are seen in most horror films. In this video I was able to show more of each aspect as I had a separate slide for each one.
Horror Films: On the first slide I presented a variety of horror films with different themes, for example: The conjuring: possession, MAMA: ghost/spirits, Saw: murder. By doing this me and Faye were able to identify which sort of themes me and faye wanted in our trailer, whether it was possession, murder, ghost/spirits etc.
Props: On the next slide I presented my favourite props used in horrors films, most pictures I used were typical props that are featured in horror films. My favourite props is the mask as it creates mystery as you the audience don't know who is behind it.
Location: In this slide I included locations for horror films. Location is an important aspect as if the location isn't right then it could affect how an audience identify the genre. For example if the location in the genre horror doesn't have any sort of scary aspect it will be hard for audience to know what the genre is and so can make the film confusing.
Make Up: In this slide I show my favourite types of horror make up styles. In horror it is key to get the make up right as it can emphasize the genre. By using scary make up it makes the characters more identifiable. For example if a character is possessed you would want to make them be pale, have dark make up and look rough, you need to make the characters look realistic or this could result in the audience confused in what role he/she is playing. I enjoy deciding which make up to use at it makes the characters come to life and suit the role he/she is playing.
Characters: In the next slide I show typical characters in horror films, by doing this me and faye were able to get inspiration from these characters and decide what personalities our characters should have based on the characters I show in this slide.  

Themes: Lastly I show what type of themes in typical horror films. In horror there are many themes that can be featured in a film. A theme is important to have as when you have a theme you have something to follow. For our trailer me and Faye have decided to do a mixture of themes, the themes we have chosen are ghost, possession and psychological. We have decided to pick these as we think they go well together.

Faye's Mood Board

This is my mood board for the movie genre of Horror. I decided to make it into a video with a variety of aspects commonly known and used for Horror movies rather than just 1 image.
Horror Films
I firstly gave an example of different and popular horror films. These included The Conjuring, Insidious, MAMA, The Haunting, The Strangers and others. I felt these films related most to the story line me and Laura are planning to do and so decided to include them in my mood board. 

Props
The next slide I included were props. I felt props are one of the main things in a horror film because it identifies to the audience what type of genre the film is. Many props used in films typically are fake blood, weapons and a lot of the time in horror films especially, masks.
Scenes
I also included scenes I liked from certain movies. These scenes inspired me and made me think about how me and Laura could use them in our trailer. Some of the scenes I included are from movies such as The Exorcist, The Conjuring, Paranormal Activity and The Shining. These films relate a lot to the plot we are planning to do for our trailer because they are relating to psychological and haunting aspects.

Locations
Next I wrote about different locations used for horror films. I feel locations are definitely a main part in movies as they have to relate to the genre. Typical locations for horror movies are attics, old-fashioned homes, hospitals, and woods. I really felt that this helped us in thinking about different locations for our trailer and gave us many different and good ideas.
Themes
There are many different themes that a horror genre can be. On my mood board I included typical ones like ghosts, possession, monsters, murder and psychological. Me and Laura are planning on doing a mixture of ghosts, possession and psychological because we feel these 3 themes go very well together and we find those type of films really interesting. 

Make-Up

Make-up is also a big part of horror. Actors make-up has to be perfect and right for the role they are playing in order to pull it off and make it realistic. I enjoy deciding and doing make up for a horror genre because I think it's really interesting and there's a lot of different things you can do to make it different and realistic.
